But how gorgeous is this, especially those darling cucumber sandwiches? I really love paper sculpted food, not as much as real food obviously, but this example by Benja Harney is the peachiest I've seen. Nice to see 3D, handmade items coming back into fashion in graphic design. Looking at my computer monitor day-in-day-out is DULL.

Works really well in editorial too. Nice.

Check out his other work over at Paperform.

Fran, these are delightful. How clever.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do they get such curves from paper?
Hi Jan, I believe it is done using "bones" to sculpt and curl paper *harks back to art school days*. Bones are just plastic tools.
ReplyDeleteAh this is just the cutest.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
*kisses* HH
They look really cool, I especially like the cucumber sandwich with herbs sticking out of it, incredible attention to detail.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have any pounds to lose! Surely not!
Ah Sarah that is sweet of you. Well the lady at the wedding dress shop really pulled that measuring tape tight, thinking I may be one of those brides that starves themselves before the big day. Nope!
ReplyDeleteUtterly adorable!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's just me but looking at pictures of paper-food makes my tummy rumble more than pictures of real-food! Maybe because my imagination works extra-hard.
Either way I would love high tea and cucumber sandwiches, asap! Cool find - thanks! x
